
Gov. Angus S. King awarded honorary degree by Bowdoin College
May, 2007Former Maine Governor and current Leaders associate Angus S. King was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws by Bowdoin College at the school’s 202nd commencement exercises on May 26, 2007. Other honorary degree recipients included: Geoffrey Canada, president/CEO of the Harlem Children’s Zone, a visionary educator and advocate for children and community redevelopment; Roberto Díaz an internationally renowned violist and the president and CEO of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia; Stanley F. Druckenmiller, chairman, CEO, and founder of Duquesne Capital Management in New York, and a member of the Bowdoin class of 1975; and Drew Gilpin Faust, eminent historian and outstanding academic leader who has served since 2001 as the founding dean of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, and who was elected the twenty-eighth president of Harvard University in February 2007.
